Now a museum, it is essentially dedicated to Fra Angelico (also known as Fra’ Giovanni da Fiesole), whose frescoes in the cloister and in the dormitory corridor constitute some of the most important of his works. The tour takes you from the 20 or so paintings found in the large hall to the right of the entrance (best known for <em>The Last Judgment and Deposition</em>) past an impressive Crucifixion fresco (1441-42) in the Sala Capitolare, up the stairs to a stunning Annunciation (circa 1445) and into the cells where frescoes depict scenes from the Life of Christ and figures from the Dominican order.
